Psychotherapist in California

Working with a psychotherapist means having a trained clinician to help you understand patterns you cannot see clearly on your own, whether that is anxiety, trauma, burnout, or relationship strain. Mind’s Eye Psychotherapy sees clients virtually throughout California. My approach draws on Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, a method built around understanding the different parts of yourself rather than just managing symptoms

LCSW Training and Credentials

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California (CA LCSW #135178), also licensed as an LICSW in Massachusetts (License #LICSW1120715), with a National Provider Identifier (NPI) is 1932746831. I earned my MSW from Boston University and completed an undergraduate degree at UC Santa Cruz. My clinical training includes IFS Level 1 certification (2023), MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) training (2022), and a certification in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

Every new client starts with a free 15-minute consultation before committing to ongoing work, and the practice keeps a clear 48-hour cancellation policy so expectations are set upfront. I operate as an out-of-network provider and offer superbills so PPO clients can seek reimbursement directly from their insurance. There's no published flat rate for sessions, since fees depend on the specifics of your plan and situation, but that's something you can ask about directly during your consultation.

You can verify my California license through the state licensing board, or read my full background for more on my training and approach.

Why Work With a Psychotherapist?

Psychotherapy helps because it's ongoing. I'm not here to hand you a coping technique and send you off. We meet weekly or biweekly, and over that time I get to know the patterns you can't see clearly from the inside. That takes more than one conversation.

The reasons people start working with me in California tend to fall into a handful of patterns:

  • Anxiety that won't switch off. The kind that follows you home from work and turns up again at 2am.

  • Burnout. Common across California's higher-pressure industries, and it rarely clears up with one long weekend.

  • A life transition. A move across the state, a job change, a breakup, becoming a parent.

  • Relationship patterns, whether you're looking at them on your own or with your partner in couples work.

  • Trauma you've carried a while. Old responses that made sense once and get in the way now.

  • Access. If you're nowhere near Los Angeles, virtual sessions mean your zip code stops deciding your options.

I work using Internal Family Systems, which I trained in at Level 1 in 2023. Rather than treating anxiety as a fault to correct, IFS treats it as a part of you doing a job it learned to do a long time ago. Understanding that part usually changes more than fighting it does.

I'll be honest, this work isn't always comfortable, and some sessions land harder than others. But you're not doing it alone, and you're not doing it on a fixed timeline. I see clients virtually across California, and we start with a free 15-minute consultation to work out whether I'm the right fit for you.

Online Psychotherapy in California

Mind's Eye Psychotherapy runs entirely online, so where you live in California doesn't decide whether you can work with me. Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, the Bay Area, or a small town in the Central Valley, the requirements stay the same: privacy, a stable connection, and an hour you can protect.

Past that, online sessions run the way in-person ones do. Same weekly rhythm, same length, same clinical approaches including IFS. Everything happens on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that keeps your health information private at every session.

What changes is the friction around getting there. You skip the drive across town and the waiting room entirely. For a lot of clients, that's the difference between meaning to start therapy and actually starting.
