Virtual sessions, Massachusetts

Psychotherapist in Massachusetts

I studied in Boston and I am licensed in Massachusetts, so this state has stayed part of my practice. Sessions are held by video with adults and couples anywhere in the Commonwealth, drawing on Internal Family Systems alongside attachment and psychodynamic work.

Training and credentials

I hold a Master of Social Work from Boston University and am licensed in Massachusetts as well as California. My training includes Level 1 IFS certification (2023) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (2022). Every new client starts with a free 15-minute consultation, and the practice keeps a clear 48 hour cancellation policy. I am an out-of-network provider and offer superbills so PPO clients can seek reimbursement directly from their insurance.

Why a psychotherapist

Why work with a psychotherapist?

Psychotherapy helps because it is ongoing. I am not here to hand you a coping technique and send you off. We meet weekly or every other week, and over that time I get to know the patterns you cannot see clearly from the inside. That takes more than one conversation.

  • Anxiety and high-functioning stress, familiar to a lot of people in academic and hospital settings here.
  • Depression or emotional flatness that has settled in quietly, especially through the darker months.
  • A life transition: graduate school, a first job, a move, a relationship ending or beginning.
  • Relationship and attachment patterns, alone or together with your partner.
  • Trauma held for a long time, including complex trauma that began early.
  • Access. Winter, commuting, and rural distance stop deciding whether you get to therapy.

I work using Internal Family Systems, trained at Level 1 in 2023. Rather than treating anxiety as a fault to correct, IFS treats it as a part of you doing a job it learned a long time ago. Understanding that part usually changes more than fighting it does.
